Missions
Our members are very active in Missions at home and abroad. We sponsor a full time minister in Honduras and do medical missions each year. We have built a clinic there housing a Doctor and Dentist as well as church buildings and homes for our brethren. Along with other congregations in the area we were able to send 210 children to school. These children are learning to read and in turn are reading the bible to their families. (See letter below)
We also sponsor missionaries in Nigeria, a Hispanic minister in training, and are involved in the World Bible School.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: “Ephesians 1:3”
On behalf of the preachers, parents, students and congregations of the Churches of Christ in Alauca, Coyolar, Cuyali, La Union and El Carmen, I want to express my thankfulness for the financial assistance you have given to our children to support their elementary education, we can not fully express on this email all the emotions and feelings that nestle our hearts to see this happening one more year, the dreams of 210 children to attend school and have a better future or at least to have the ability to write and read, which also involves the desire to read what God says in the Bible, could never be accomplished if it’s not were for the hard work and diligence you have put to make this happen, all of this has a special connection with the church and your Christian life.
Those places where you have been in Honduras have been really blessed, not only with this program but also for the efforts you have made in sharing the true message that comes from God which is “God is Love”, and you have showed us the love that the Lord has put in your hearts, this bring us a great encouragement, the Christian life can be thaught not only with our lips but also with our actions, many of your brothers and sisters in Christ in Honduras may not understand the English Language but I can assure you that they do understand the language of love, the love of God, at the same time it is easy to understand this way what James says:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17.
May we be open to do many other good works so that the name of the Lord may be glorified.
May the Lord continues blessing to all of you abundantly.
