Here at Johnson there are many people working behind the scenes as well as right up front to further God's Kingdom. Just as Paul said in Romans 12, "For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function."
We have a preacher here that works all week not only preparing the messages for our services, but visiting the sick, praying for members and performing many other duties. Our preacher works under the leadership of the elders and works closely with them to ensure that not only the spiritual needs of the church are being met but most importantly that all messages delivered are scriptural and accurate.
We have Elders that have been approved by the members to shepherd the flock, to pray for them and provide counsel in times of need. Our elders are the spiritual leaders for our church and oversee our minister, deacons, and other church staff. All of our elders have a deep knowledge of God's word along with a great desire to serve Him.
There are Deacons who have also been approved by the members and work under the leadership of the elders to care for specific areas of the church. Our deacons visit the sick, plan activities for groups like our Golden Eagles, Young Adults, and Youth Group. They take care of the maintenance of the building, children's education, and benevolence along with multiple other areas of service.
We have a church secretary that works daily taking calls and prayer requests not only from our members, but also from other churches and people in the community. She works with our song leaders and preacher to make sure our services are planned and ready to go on Sundays and Wednesdays. She also works in close communication with our elders and deacons to ensure that the needs of our church are being serviced and cared for.
As you can see there are many to parts to our body and we are truly blessed to have an amazing group of people that work together with one goal in mind: To see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith.
